From a field of 12 nonprofit nominations, the Centre County Historical Society has been named the 2025 Nonprofit of the Year by the Chamber of Business & Industry of Centre County (CBICC).
The award was announced at the 2025 Centre County Business Awards, held Thursday evening, October 23, at the Nittany Lion Inn. The program is sponsored by the CBICC and this year was presented by Stuckey Automotive.
“Year after year, this program ensures that the people making an impact in the Centre County business community receive well-deserved recognition and visibility,” said Greg Scott, CBICC President and CEO. “This year’s recipients represent the innovation and dedication that drives Centre County’s economy forward and enhances the high quality of life we enjoy.”
The Centre County Business Awards is a cornerstone CBICC event recognizing outstanding achievement through a peer-led nomination and selection process. This year’s program drew a record number of nominations, which were reviewed and discussed by a diverse panel of community and business leaders serving on the Awards Selection Committee.
“On behalf of the Centre County Historical Society—our board of governors, staff, and volunteers—I am deeply honored to accept the CBICC’s Non-Profit of the Year Award,” said Mary Sorensen, executive director of the CCHS.
